Valentine’s @ Doost & Amici

Rooz-e Eshq meets San Valentino
When Persian poetry meets Italian romance

At Doost & Amici, love has two languages.

In Persian, Valentine’s Day is called Rooz-e Eshq (روز عشق), the Day of Love. In Italian, it is San Valentino, a celebration of passion, togetherness, and the joy of the table.

This Valentine’s Week, we bring these two beautiful cultures together: Persian warmth and poetry, Italian romance and generosity, shared over food, wine, and unhurried time.

The Language of Love

Persian & Italian

Both Persian and Italian cultures believe that love should be spoken, shared, and felt, not rushed.

In Persian, love sounds like this:
Eshq (عشق) — Love
Dooset Daram (دوستت دارم) — I love you
Ashegham (عاشقم) — I’m in love
Joonam (جونم) — My soul

In Italian, love sounds like this:
Amore — Love
Ti amo — I love you
Sei la mia vita — You are my life
Tesoro — My treasure
Different words. The same feeling

To zendegi-ye mani — You are my life
Zendegim bedoone to por nemishe; My life isn’t complete without you
Man asheghe labkhandet hastam; I’m in love with your smile
Persian love is gentle, expressive, and timeless, just like the way we cook.

Love Is Meant to Be Shared

In Persian culture, love lives in poetry, tea, sweets, and long conversations. In Italian culture, love lives at the table — in shared plates, clinking glasses, and meals that stretch into the night.

At Doost & Amici, we believe the most romantic thing you can do is sit together and eat well. This Valentine’s Week, our menus are designed for exactly that.

A Persian-Italian toast to love.

A Final Thought

Persian poets and Italian romantics agree on one thing:
Love should be savoured, not rushed. Or, as Hafez might say, and an Italian nonna would quietly agree:

Life is sweeter when shared.
